Vicky
Oldfield
Vicky
studied Design at Staffordshire University and then advanced
printmaking at Richmond School of Art. She has worked as a
designer/illustrator for exclusive brands such as Villeroy and
Boch, The British Museum, Wedgewood, and Triodes
International in Paris.
Vicky
is becoming increasingly collectable having shown at the Royal
Academy, Bankside, and The Mall Galleries, London.
Having
experimented with a variety of printmaking techniques, she found her metier in collagraphy, a highly textural
form of printing from a plate built up with layers of everyday
materials. This process affords small editions of the image,
which are variable due to the process and her desire to
experiment, which means each print is unique. Continually
inspired by plants, objects and the animals that surround her,
Oldfield's pictures are an atmospheric response to the beauty and drama
of daily life. Her flowers are fresh and full of life, yet
they become part of the old once discarded bottles and jars,
labeled relics, an archaeological find from everyday
objects.
